Vintage Seiko 7T32-7C20 Quartz Chronograph
White dial and blue subdials, surrounded by a dual tone blue and gold rotary bezel, in perfect Daytona style: this Vintage Seiko 7T32-7C20 Quartz Chronograph is breathtaking!
This has been a personal grail watch for me: this seiko Quartz chronograph, based on the true and trusty 7T32 movement, is the kind of watch I was looking att when I started working on watches, several years ago. I serviced and personally owned several quartz chronographs with the same movement since then, but none was so stricking (well, perhaps one, honestly…) and good looking as this one. The color combination (white dial with deep blue subdials, stainless steel brushed case with rotary gold plated uni-directional bezel with again metallic blue inlett and silver numerals) is just perfect, making it stand out in any occasion and a definitive conversation starter even among high end luxury watch wearers.
The leather strap is not original, unfortunately, but it is well used and feels really good on the wrist (of course, it was professionally cleaned) and the watch wears way bigger that it actually is, contributing to the bold statement of the watch head. All tthe functions are perfect, even the alarm is loud and clear. Oh, did I mention the condition is simply amazing?
I can only see some scratches on the lugs, and sides of the case due to normal wear, but when I say “nothing serious”, I mean it. I would not retouch the casee since it is brushed, and the marks present still tell a sttory, which probably was of a well manteined and cared for watch.
The rotating bezel is oh so smooth, you can count every single of the 120 clicks it takes to make it ocmpletely turn around the watch face. and the grip is just amazing. Crowns and pushers are in almost perfectly new condition, showing only some light marks of letting the watch rest on a table top. The pushers are themselves soft, but sturdy enough to give that proper mechanical feedback you are looking for on a high end watch. Just perfect.
What we like about this watch:
The looks of it: what there is not to love? Gold, White, metallic blue in a perfect combination, all supported by a sttainless steel, brushed case which is big enough to cover your wrist, but not that big to seem ackward while wearing this Vintage Seiko 7T32-7C20 Quartz Chronograph. Dimension wise, it is just perfect.
What we don’t like about this watch:
The leather strap is not original (it was a double padded blue leather strap originally) yet it is still comfortable and supple, as good original leather straps should be. It is used, so even if it was professionally washed, I would recommend to swap it in the next future. But only if you are “that” picky about using a used watch. I did not mind wearing it for some time (too little unfortunately).
Finally, we would like to say:
This Vintage Seiko 7T32-7C20 Quartz Chronograph is something really special: rough enough to be called sporty, but so flashy and classy looking that it wear well even att business meetings. I prefer it paired to jeans and t-shirt eating my favourite pizza, though. But thatt is just me. Your choice of how to and with what to wear it is infinite, though: it will suitt you well, no matter your dress code, and your life style. Use it, either daily or only oon the weekends, or even on a special occasion: it will not let you down. It will not make you look bad, quite the contrary. By the way, this model is pretty rare, so get it now, or you’ll miss a chance to own a very good, not so often seen chronograph, with the Daytona looks but not its premium price.
