Vintage Seiko 7T32-7C60 White Dial Quartz Chronograph

Class, lots of it: this is what this Vintage Seiko 7T32-7C60 White Dial Quartz Chronograph is made of. Honestly I have seen a lot of watches pretending to be what they are not. Yet never have I ever seen one that fits the description of “classy sport watch” as this one does. Ever.

What we like about this watch:

This Vintage Seiko 7T32-7C60 White Dial Quartz Chronograph has been the object of many auction searches for a lot of vintage Seiko collectors, and now here it is, in all of its glory. The stainless steel bracelet is original to the watch, has proper length even for bigger wrists and the clasp is showing very few signs of “desk diving” marks, being the brushed finish still very visible and sharp. The same is to say for the rest of the bracelet links and even for the case itself, having the polished sides only very light scratches and the top being still in excellent condition: no nasty door knob dents whatsoever are present.

The glass is almost brand new: it does have an extremely, almost invisible line between the 8 and 9 hour markers, but due to the white dial it is only visible if you look for it, and in particular light conditions. The movement is the workhorse cal. 7T32, an excellently engineered quartz movement that, despite being considered by many a “throw away when not working” type of movement, since it is 90% made of plastic, is fully serviceable and with the proper care and attention (especially never leaving a battery inside when it runs out for too long) will be the perfect timekeeper for decades to come.

All functions are perfectly working: the chronograph hand starts, stops and resets to 0 perfectly. The dual time / alarm function is also working perfectly. The date function works as well, as it should.

The white dial is perfect and shows no sign of patina, nor defects whatsoever. You could not really ask for a watch in better condition, considering its age.

What we don’t like about this watch:

The only thing we do not like about this watch is that the alarm chime is a bit weak, probably due to the piezo-electric disc not making a perfect contact with the case back cover. This is a common issue in these models, and something that either you accept or try to fix, risking to break the disc. We decided to leave it as it is, since it is original to the watch and it is what we deemed to be a secondary issue, honestly.

This Vintage Seiko 7T32-7C60 White Dial Quartz Chronograph is just wonderful: light enough to be worn on a daily basis, classy enough to be sported with a formal dress or with jeans and a t-shirt: it will always be just the perfect match to your outfit. The case, bracelet, dial and hands are in excellet condition for its age and even the lume paste still provides excellent illumination in the dark after a brief exposure to sunlight.
