Titanium: this is the strongest and lightest material ever used for a Seiko watch. This Vintage Seiko 7T44-6A00 Quartz Chronograph has both the case and the bracelet made of satinized titanium, with inserts of gold plated stainless steel just to give it even more class.
But that’s not all: the 7T44 model is something of a marvel movement in itself, sporting both a chronograph and a timer, as well as the usual dual timer/alarm functions. This makes it one of the most complete and amazing quartz movements ever producd by Seiko in the early 2000’s,
The condition of the watch is really good, with minimal scratches and dings, sign of a careful wearer. Yes, you can find the usual “desk-diving marks” on the buckle, but hey, which vintage watch does not have them? The white dial witth dark blue hands, surrounded by a dark blue-metallic bezel makes this watch incredibly good looking, but somewhat flashy, also because the hour markers are white elongated lume dots incapsulated by gold plated rings. Not for everybody, it will certainly be appreciated for the collectors looking for something exclusive and rare.
Did we mention the word rare? Yes, this is a rare watch. We could not find, at the moment we are publishing this product, any other Seiko 7T44-6A00 Quartz Chronograph. Not even one. And not even any other 7T44 model for the matter.
The bracelet as well as the case are in titanium, as explained before, which make this watch not only extremely comfortable, but also incredibly light. You will not feel it on your wrist, and will have constantly check if it is still there… Blieve us, we are talking from experience!
Finally, the dual time and alarm chime at 6 oclock work perfectly, and the chime is loud and clear.
What we like about this watch:
The lightweight wrist watch is a beautiful combination of materials, colors, functionalities. This is really a must to have in any Seiko collection. Either you have this, or it is not complete. Period.
What we don’t like about this watch:
Some signs of wear and the usual “desktop-diver” marks are present, albeit not really so strongly as many other watches we have dealt with: this watch has been used, but carefully. The wristwatch is very lightweight, and the buckle too small for our wrist, but it may very well be perfect for yours. Just try it. At 37mm, the diameter of the case does seem to be a bit too small for modern standards, especially if you have big wrists.
Finally, we would like to say:
This was a rare find, and we are very sad to let it go, honestly. The Vintage Seiko 7T44-6A00 Quartz Chronograph is a technologicallittle marvel, combining high-tech materials (titanium) and functions that are usually not found together (chonometer and timer). The small diameter of the case can be seen as a negative aspect for those of you with very large wrists, but once on, you will not want to take it off.
